If you want something wireless that’s easy to set up and gives you a really wide view, the Arlo Essential Video Doorbell Wire-Free is good. It’s mid-range price-wise. It’s battery powered, so you don’t need existing wiring, which is handy. You might want to consider their subscription for the smart notifications though.
Now, if you’re like me and hate monthly fees, the Eufy Video Doorbell Dual is a strong contender. It’s super good at watching your packages because it has two cameras. It’s a bit more expensive upfront, but you save money in the long run since you don’t pay for subscriptions. You’ll usually need existing wiring for this one.
The Reolink Video Doorbell is another good one if you want to avoid subscriptions and store recordings locally. It gives you a really clear picture. It’s often more affordable, like budget to mid-range. If you’re a bit techier, you can even power it with an ethernet cable for a super stable connection.
Back to Ring for a sec, the Ring Video Doorbell 4 is a solid mid-range choice. It’s battery-powered, so it’s easy to install anywhere, which is great for renters. It also has this cool ‘pre-roll’ feature that shows you what happened just before motion was detected, in color too!
Finally, if you’re on a tighter budget but still want lots of features, check out the Wyze Video Doorbell Pro. It’s really affordable and super easy to install. A great choice if you’re just starting with smart home stuff or already have other Wyze devices.
So yeah, there are tons of smart doorbells out there, and they all do slightly different things. Some, like the Ring Pro 2 or Nest, are super fancy but might need a monthly fee. If you hate subscriptions, Eufy Dual or Reolink are great because they save videos locally. For something wireless and easy, Arlo or Ring 4 are good. And if you’re on a budget, Wyze is a solid pick. It really just comes down to what you need, how much you want to spend, and what kind of smart home stuff you already have.
